Reflections on My Return to New York for Fashion Week

It had been many years since I last stepped foot in New York City. My last visit was when I was just 13 years old, wide-eyed and curious about the world. Returning now, as an adult and a participant in New York Fashion Week, was nothing short of incredible.

Rediscovering New York

This trip was more than just about fashion—it was about rediscovery. I visited Rockefeller Center, where the energy of the city seemed to pulse through the ice rink and surrounding towers. At the World Trade Center Memorial, I stood in reflection, reminded of resilience, strength, and how the city—and the nation—carry on with grace and unity.

Walking along the Hudson River, I found moments of peace amid the bustle, the water reminding me of the constant flow of life and progress. And of course, simply wandering through Manhattan and Times Square, I felt the heartbeat of the city—bright lights, endless motion, and a sense of being part of something bigger.

The Highlight: Walking the Runway

As memorable as those sights were, nothing compared to the moment I stepped onto the runway at New York Fashion Week. The lights, the audience, the energy—every second was surreal. It was a dream come true, and I carried not only my own excitement but also the pride of representing where I’ve come from and the journey it took to get here.

A Trip That Changed Me

This return to New York was about more than landmarks or fashion shows—it was about growth, resilience, and experiencing a dream I once only imagined. To go from visiting the city as a teenager to walking the runway in one of the world’s most iconic fashion events is proof that with perseverance and passion, doors open in the most amazing ways.

New York reminded me that anything is possible, and that sometimes, when you revisit a place from your past, you find not just the city has changed—but that you have too.
