Well the whole wild world saw and listened to Sean Puffy “I-did-it” Combs social media apology tour yesterday. Needless to say the DIDDLER’s apology had to be the most emotion-less, insincere apology I have ever heard in my life! But beyond DIDDLER’s FAKERY, the biggest reveal from that video released this past Friday brings forth so many other relevant side issues and layers to be unpacked in American society.
Bad behavior runs deep in sports and entertainment
First, DIDDY ain’t the only celebrity who did the unthinkable, assaulting the opposite sex. He’s not the first to show an abusive side. Let us not forget about the following:
- Elvis Presley was known to be abusive to wife Priscilla. Details released released in Priscilla’s memoir titled “Elvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N’ Roll”
- The late Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was physically battered by his then wife Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins
- Singer, performer Chris Brown Brown made a guilty plea to felony assault and was sentenced to five years’ probation and 180 days of community labor for his physical attack of singer Rihanna
- Ike Turner was commonly known for his horrific temper and numerous incidents of physical abuse towards Tina Turner in public places and in their family home.
- NBA player Allen Iverson was arrested for physically kicking his then wife (who was reported to be naked at that time) Tawanna out of their home.
- NFL – MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! From the years 2000-2021 there were 134 players arrested for domestic violence and 15 for crimes relating to sexual assault, battery or solicitation, comprising 13% of all NFL arrests. Click here to read more about the NFL’s player arrest database
I could go on and one forever naming names, but I don’t have the next 24 hours to sit here and list them all!!
stay tuned for Part 2 “Big money means no accountability”
